The Game
Army Group Narwa™( # 106-1 ), is a boardgame covering the Soviet attack on Estonia in 1944.
The Scene:
The game handles the 2 months of fighting during February until April 1944 in th and around the city of Narva. Stalin just launched his spring offensive and had got the germans on the run. The 3 SS Panzar Corps takes a stand on the city of Narva against 5 armies from the Leningrad Front. The Soviet troops constantly being reinforced sends wave after wave of attacking divisions against the slowly increasing german defenders. Estonia stamps a division out of the ground after Hitler promising them some kind of independence. This unit, being formed into the 20th SS fights not only a war of liberation but also a civil one since Stalin sends for the 8th Corps to attack them. That corps being formed from estonians fighting Hitler.
The Game Design
Army Group Narwa™ is taught in 30 minutes and easy to digest yet a challenge even for the more experienced players. Army Group Narwa™ is built around the same system of rules that have shaped both Plan West and Königsberg'45. The game uses a chit pull system. Each turn is one week and the game has 10 turns.
The game also include a scenario of the fight around the Tannenberg line.
